[...] I do have a catch-all bucket for “miscellaneous opportunities” that don’t yet fit neatly into a process. Within that bucket I have a “could do” list which is VERY long and is a bunch of ideas I have that are not ready for prime time for a variety of reasons. I even have a list of things I should ”stop doing.” [...]

The best is the answers. I could not stop laughing -it seemed like group therapy in cascade-. I have a good one you are not going to be fan about:

Do not click goalfree web site if distracts you of focusing in a writing project that should have been completed by YESTERDAY - and that,condescending-.

Oh this is sooo neat!
I have never really understood people's obsessions with lists. I have never liked it because it always made me feel inadequate when I didn't manage to get it all done. Sometimes at the end of a day I make my own 'Ta-dah'-lists with all those small things on it I accomplished during the day.
You 'could' give it a try, it is fun and makes you feel great! I might give the 'not to do' list a try...or not, depending on how I feel... ;-)
