These are extremely interesting issues. I have myself struggled very hard for year now to try to find new goals that HELD MY INTEREST long enough! I still can't find them. Nothing seems that important.
Yet I know I want to do important and interesting things, especially in the arts, and I know I can, I have before.
So now I am sort of fiddling around with some things, going in a direction that feels right.

I think I detect some rationalization here. To write a book is to write a book, with satisfactions inherent in the doing of it. It can be published these days at very low cost, if that satisfaction is desired. But the moment your thinking begins to cascade beyond that point (i.e., "...a magazine, workbooks, workshops, self-publishing books, a series of mini-books around each secret, an interactive website, or a number of other vehicles"), the BASIS for goals creeps into the picture, if not the goals themselves.

And while you say that "making an huge impact on the world" is merely an aspiration, it sounds more to me like a goal. This entry of yours reflects a good deal of ambivalence, though your overall site theme is excellent.
